In this segment we are going to give a small brief about SCCM and what it can do for us. This is a useful product for enterprise environments. I am not going to claim this is a must for small environments. But in larger environments where a Service Technician Level I/II might rebuild 20-30 workstations a week it can be a life safer. It can be used to deploy operating systems, upgrade operating systems, deploy new software as well as can be used to essentially run something on a remote machine. This might be handy in a security conscious environment where you want to run a PowerShell script that remediates services and programs where “unquoted” services exist. I know I don’t want to visit machines individually when a simple fix is available.
Microsoft SCCM – What is it. Is it right for me? What can I do with it.
